Will connecting the rear emblem light to the parking light cause a dashboard warning?
No, it should not cause a dashboard warning when installed correctly. The flip function still uses the original factory motor mechanism.
Do I still need to use the original drain tube?
Yes, we recommend reusing the original drain tube. The RGB version includes a drain tube, but every vehicle may be slightly different, so we cannot guarantee the included tube will match your car perfectly. The red version does not include a drain tube. The original drain tube is usually the best fit because it was made for your vehicle.
Can I install this rear emblem if my car does not have a factory flip-style rearview camera?
No. This product is only suitable for VW vehicles that already have a factory flip-style rearview camera inside the original rear emblem.
How do I control the RGB rear emblem?
You can control the RGB rear emblem from your phone through the WeChat mini program or by downloading the Cozylife app. Both options allow you to change colors and lighting effects.
Is professional installation required?
Professional installation is strongly recommended. This product requires removing the original rear emblem, routing wires, and connecting the power properly.
Is this product a tail light?
No. This is an illuminated rear VW emblem replacement. It is not a tail light or brake light replacement.
Can the RGB version be installed on the Golf 8.5?
We can provide an RGB rear emblem version for the Golf 8.5. However, the original Golf 8.5 does not have an RGB signal source for this emblem, so it cannot work directly with the factory flip-camera control module. For this reason, our RGB version for the Golf 8.5 comes with a built-in control module.
To use the RGB function, the original factory camera and related parts need to be transferred to this RGB rear emblem, while the original factory control module does not need to be transferred. This makes the installation different from a regular emblem replacement, and some customers may find it more complicated. You should also consider whether you are willing to replace the original factory camera module. For these reasons, we have temporarily paused sales of the Golf 8.5 RGB version.
